Please let us take this opportunity to thank all of our Knoxville Neighbors who supported our
Greek Festival . Thanks are in order to all those in the Saint George Community Family who

Step inside an exciting Mediterranean culture and dance your cares away at the 29th Annual Saint George Greek Festival. The spectacular event will be held Friday and Saturday, and a half day Sunday.
During the festival, young people from the congregation will entertain with high-energy performances. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to learn how to Greek dance. Check out our GreekFest Gift Shops, where guests can purchase a variety of imported gifts and crafts. Original art work is also available.
“Our festival gives us, as people of faith, the opportunity and good fortune to share our Orthodox faith while providing a window into our jubilant culture,” said Father John Kostas.
Father Kostas and other volunteers will provide interactive sanctuary tours each day so that visitors can get a quick orientation of Greek Orthodox church history while marveling at the Byzantine icons and stained glass windows. In the Greek tradition, members from the 250-family church will lovingly make and serve exquisite ‘old country’ dishes. The indulgent should expect homemade Greek favorites, such as Spanakopita (spinach pie), Saganaki (flaming Feta cheese), Souvlak i, Gyros, Greek pizza, and Roast Leg of Lamb. A Greek Coffee stand will satisfy the java lovers.
Leave room for dessert. Choose from traditional Baklava or Kataifi, filled with nuts, butter and honey. Try a custard pastry, or a powdered sugar cookie. Grecian sweet bread loaves are available for take home.
